What are decoy networks?

A decoy network is like having extra pretend playgrounds to trick a bully into chasing you while you go somewhere fun.

Imagine you're playing hide and seek at recess. Instead of hiding in the big tree, you leave a few friends to hide near the swings, those are your decoys. The bully sees them and goes after them, thinking they’re the ones who hid first. Meanwhile, you sneak off to the slide area, where there's no one looking.

In the real world, a decoy network works like that. It’s a fake version of a computer system, kind of like a pretend playground. Hackers try to break into your real computer, but instead they find these decoys, which look just like the real thing. The hackers waste their time trying to get into the decoy, while you're working on your real stuff without being bothered.

It’s like having extra friends ready to distract a bully, only this time, it's computers doing the trick!
