What are cosmic structures?

Cosmic structures are like giant, colorful building blocks scattered across the universe.

Imagine you have a huge box full of different shapes, cubes, long rectangles, and big round balls. Now imagine that instead of being in your toy room, these shapes are spread out in space, really far away from each other. These shapes are cosmic structures, like galaxies and clusters of galaxies.

Think of a galaxy as a group of stars that all hang out together, kind of like how your toys stay together when you're playing with them. Our own galaxy is called the Milky Way, and it looks like a swirl of stars from above.

Now, if you take several galaxies and put them close to each other, they form a galaxy cluster, it's like a group of friends who all play together in one corner of the toy room. These clusters can be part of even bigger groups called superclusters, which are like giant teams playing together across the whole room.

So, cosmic structures help us see how everything in space is organized, just like you organize your toys!
