What are conflicts or repressed desires?

Conflicts or repressed desires are like when you really want something but can’t have it right away, and it makes you feel a little upset inside.

Imagine you’re playing with your favorite toy, and suddenly someone takes it from you. You want it back, but you have to wait. That feeling of wanting something but not being able to get it is a conflict or repressed desire. It’s like when you really want to eat a cookie, but your mom says no, you’re happy inside, but also a little sad because the cookie isn’t here yet.

Like a Secret Wish

Sometimes, you might feel this even if no one takes anything from you. Maybe you're trying to be good and not say anything mean, but deep down, you want to laugh at a joke, that’s like having a repressed desire. It's a secret wish inside your heart.

When You Feel Tired or Sad

Sometimes, when you have too many of these little conflicts or repressed desires, it can feel like your brain is full. That’s why you might get tired or even cry, because you’re holding on to all those feelings that want to come out.

It's like having a big bag of candies, but you're not allowed to eat them yet, they're just sitting there, making you happy and a little sad at the same time!
