A compound event is when two or more simple events happen together or one after another, like playing a game with multiple steps.
Like Playing with Blocks
Imagine you have a box of colorful building blocks. A simple event would be picking one block from the box, say, a red one. But a compound event happens if you pick two blocks in a row, or maybe even three! For example, first you choose a blue block, then a green one, that’s like playing with more than just one piece at a time.
Like Tossing Two Coins
Another way to think about it is like tossing two coins. Each coin flip by itself is a simple event, heads or tails. But when you toss both coins together, that’s a compound event, because there are more possibilities: both could be heads, both tails, or one of each.
It's just like stacking up your blocks, the more pieces you use, the more fun combinations you can make!
