What are color shifts?

Color shifts are when something changes color depending on where you look at it from.

Imagine you have a toy that looks blue when you hold it up to the light, but turns purple when you turn it around, that’s a color shift! It's like having two different colors hiding inside one object, and they take turns showing themselves based on the angle of the light.

How It Works

Think about a rainbow. When light hits something with special kinds of shiny surfaces (like a gem or a glittery toy), it can split into different colors, just like in a rainbow. Depending on where you look at that object from, one color might pop out more than another, and poof, you see a color shift!

Real-Life Example

A good example is your favorite shiny bracelet. In the sunlight, it might look green, but when you move it to a different angle, it might look blue or red. It’s not changing colors on its own, it's just showing you different parts of the rainbow inside it!

So color shifts are like having multiple colors in one object, and they take turns being seen, all because of how light hits them!
