Clusters are groups of things that stick together because they're similar or connected.
Imagine you have a big bag full of different kinds of candies, gummies, chocolates, and hard candies. If you pour them all out on the table, they might look messy and mixed up. But if you sort them into piles based on what kind they are, each pile is like a cluster, all the same or similar things grouped together.
Like Friends at Play
Think of it like friends playing together in the park. If all the kids who love to swing are hanging out near the swings, and the ones who like to slide are near the slide, those groups of kids are clusters too! They’re not scattered across the whole park, they're gathered where their favorite activities are.
When Things Stay Together
Clusters happen in nature, too. Like how leaves stay together on a tree or how birds fly in flocks. They stick together because that’s what makes sense, it's easier and more fun to be with others who are like you!
Examples
- Stars in the sky are grouped together, forming a cluster.
- Kids playing together at recess form a cluster of friends.
- Bacteria growing on a plate make a cluster.
