What are climate zones?

Climate zones are like playgrounds for the weather, different places have their own rules for how hot, cold, wet, or dry it gets.

Imagine Earth is a big school, and each climate zone is a class. Some classes are in sunny rooms where it's always warm, like the beach. Others are in cozy corners with heaters, like your bedroom in winter. And some are outside in the rain, like when you're playing in puddles after a storm.

Why do climate zones exist?

It’s because of how the sun shines on Earth. Places near the equator get lots of sunlight all year, that's why they’re usually warm. But places farther away, like near the North or South Pole, get less sun, so it’s colder there.

Also, oceans and mountains can change the weather too. Like how your bedroom gets cooler when you open the window, sometimes a place near the sea is more mild, while a mountain might be snowier.

So climate zones help us know what kind of weather to expect in different parts of the world, just like knowing which playground has swings or slides! Climate zones are like playgrounds for the weather, different places have their own rules for how hot, cold, wet, or dry it gets.
