What are choices?

A choice is when you pick one thing out of a group because you like it best, just like picking your favorite snack from a bag.

Imagine you're at a toy store with three toys: a red car, a blue dinosaur, and a yellow robot. You can't take them all home, so you have to choose which one you want most. That’s what a choice is, deciding between different things to pick the one that makes you happiest.

What Choices Feel Like

When you're choosing, it's like having a little party in your brain. Each toy says something like, “Pick me! I’m fun!” or “I’ll make you laugh!” You think about each one and then go with the one that sounds most exciting to you.

Why We Make Choices

People make choices all day long, like picking what to wear, what to eat, or even what game to play. Every time you choose something, you're being a little decision-maker, just like when you decide between ice cream and cake for dessert!
