A cardiovascular emergency is when your heart or blood vessels get into trouble and need help fast.
Imagine your heart is like a little engine that pumps blood through your body, it’s what keeps you going! Now, sometimes this engine can sputter or even stop working properly all of a sudden. That's a cardiovascular emergency.
When the Heart Needs Help
Sometimes, the heart might get blocked, like when a piece of food gets stuck in a straw, it can’t push the blood through anymore. This is called a heart attack, and it’s one type of cardiovascular emergency.
Other times, your blood vessels might get too tight or even burst, like a balloon that's been stretched too far. This can make your heart work harder than it should, which is another kind of problem, maybe like when you’re running really fast and suddenly trip over something!
These emergencies are serious, but with quick help, the heart engine can start working smoothly again, just like how a toy car starts up after you give it a little push!
