What are bomb racks?

A bomb rack is like a special shelf on a plane that holds bombs so they can be dropped quickly.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks, each block is a bomb, and the shelf is the bomb rack. Just as you stack your blocks on the shelf to keep them ready for playtime, pilots put bombs in the bomb rack to have them ready when it's time to drop them from high up.

A bomb rack is attached to a plane or a ship. When it’s time to attack, the bombs are released one by one, like letting go of your blocks so they fall to the ground. This makes it easy and fast for the plane to drop many bombs at once without having to stop or slow down.

Without bomb racks, pilots would have to hold each bomb in their hands or attach them one by one, which would take much longer and be harder to do while flying. The bomb rack makes dropping bombs feel as easy as taking a block off your shelf and letting it fall, simple, quick, and fun!
