What are bodily fluids?

Bodily fluids are the special liquids your body uses to help you grow, move, and stay healthy.

Imagine your body is like a busy kitchen, there are lots of different jobs going on at once! Bodily fluids are like the drinks and sauces that make everything work smoothly. For example, blood is like a super drink that carries food and oxygen around your body so every part can do its job. Saliva in your mouth is like a soft sauce that helps you chew and swallow your snacks more easily.

How They Work

Think of urine as the body’s way of cleaning out extra stuff, it's like when you finish playing with toys and put them in the trash can to make room for new ones.

Your tears are like tiny water droplets that come from your eyes to help wash away things that might bother them, just like how a sponge soaks up dirt.

Every time you laugh, cough, or even sleep, your body is using these special liquids, all part of the fun of being alive!
