What are black and white squares?

Black and white squares are like two kinds of blocks that can be used to make a bigger picture or pattern.

Imagine you have a big grid, kind of like a tic-tac-toe board, but much bigger. Each little space in the grid is a square. Some of them are black, and some are white. Together, they create cool shapes or designs.

Think about a checkerboard game. It has 64 small squares, half are black, and half are white. They alternate, so no two black squares are next to each other, and the same goes for white ones. This pattern makes it easy to see where your pieces go and how they move.
