What are billiards?

Billiards is when you hit balls on a table to make them go into pockets like a game.

What’s inside the game

Imagine you're playing with balls that are like bouncy marbles, and the table is like a big smooth floor made of wood. You use a stick called a cue, which is like a long pencil, to hit one ball, we call this the pocket ball, so it rolls across the table and knocks into other balls.

The goal

The aim is to get your balls into the pockets, which are little holes in each corner of the table. It's like when you try to roll a marble into a cup, but on a bigger scale and with more marbles! Sometimes, you hit the ball so it bounces off the sides, just like when a toy car hits a wall and turns around.

Fun fact

Some people play billiards for hours, trying to make tricky shots that look like they're dancing across the table. It's not magic, it's just balls having fun!
