What are basic measurements?

Basic measurements are tools we use to know how big, how long, or how much something is, like when you count your toys or measure how tall you’ve grown.

Length helps us see how far apart things are. Imagine you're lining up your favorite stuffed animals on the floor, each one takes up some space from end to end, and that’s length. We use rulers, tape measures, or even our footsteps to figure it out!

How Much You Have

Volume tells us how much space something takes up inside, like when you fill a cup with water or juice. If you pour water into a big bowl and then into a small glass, the volume is different because they hold different amounts.

How Heavy Something Is

Weight shows us how heavy something feels in our hands, just like when you pick up your backpack full of books versus an empty one. A scale can help us know exactly how much something weighs.

All these measurements are part of our daily lives, helping us understand the world around us a little better!
