What are artemis missions?

Artemis missions are like a special space adventure that astronauts go on to visit the Moon and maybe even prepare for future trips to Mars.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy car, zooming around the block. Now picture that car going all the way up into space, past Earth, to the Moon, which is like a giant, shiny rock floating in the sky. The Artemis missions are like sending astronauts on long trips to this big, shiny rock.

Like a Space Playground

The first Artemis mission was like welcoming back an old friend who had been away for a while, it brought astronauts to the Moon again. Future Artemis missions will be like setting up a new space playground with cool tools and maybe even a lunar base, so astronauts can stay longer and explore more.

It’s also kind of like building a bigger, stronger version of your treehouse, each mission adds something new and exciting to our space adventures.
