Alliances and rivalries are like friendship groups and competition teams at recess.
Alliances are when two or more people (or countries) team up to help each other out. Imagine you and your best friend decide to work together on a big art project, that’s an alliance! You both share the work, and if one of you gets stuck, the other helps out.
What about rivalries?
Rivalries are like when two people (or countries) like to compete against each other. It's like having a race with your friend, even though you’re both trying hard, you want to be the first to finish! Rivalries can make things exciting because everyone wants to win.
Sometimes, alliances and rivalries can change, just like how you might start as best friends one day, but then become rivals when you both want to be the class leader. But that doesn’t mean the friendship is gone, it's just a new kind of game!
