What are all modern humans?

All modern humans are one big family that started from just one group of people a long time ago.

Imagine you have a bag of jellybeans, all the same color and flavor. Now, suppose you shake it up, and some beans move around, maybe change colors a little, or mix with other flavors. Over time, they spread out to different places, and each group starts to look a bit different from the others, but they're still related, like cousins in a big family.

How We All Started

A long, long time ago, there was just one group of people, kind of like a small class in school. Then, over thousands of years, they moved to new places, met other groups, and sometimes had different experiences, like eating new foods or living in colder climates. This made them change a little bit, some people got taller, others had different skin colors, or maybe even different hair types.

But no matter where they went or how much they changed, all modern humans are still part of the same big family, just like you and your cousins are all part of the same family, but each one is a little bit unique.
