What Are Lava Formations?
Imagine you have a big, hot chocolate drink. When it's super hot, you pour it out quickly, whoosh! It makes a mess on the table. That’s kind of what happened with this volcano. A long time ago, it erupted, or "spewed" lava all over itself and around it. The lava was so hot that when it cooled down, it made hard, rocky shapes, these are the lava formations.
Why Do They Scar the Volcano?
Think of your skin after a big scratch from a toy. That scratch leaves a mark. The volcano had a lot of big eruptions, one after another. Each eruption left behind a "scratch" on its side, like when you use a marker to draw over and over again on paper, it makes lines that stick out.
These scratches are the ancient lava formations, they're like the volcano’s old wounds, showing how wild and strong it used to be!
Examples
- A teacher uses a simple lava flow diagram to explain how volcanoes shape the land.
- Someone imagines a volcano erupting in the middle of a dry, hot desert.
