Innovation is when people come up with new ideas and turn them into things we can use every day.

Imagine you have a toy box full of blocks. You play with them the same way every time, stacking them high, making little houses. One day, you decide to try something different: you add wheels to your block house so it can roll! That’s innovation, taking something familiar and changing it in a fun new way.

Sometimes, innovation helps us do things faster or easier. Like when your mom uses a remote control instead of getting up to turn off the TV. She didn’t invent the remote, but she used it in a smart way that made her life simpler.

You might not even notice it happening! Think about how phones have changed over time, from big, heavy ones to small, light ones you can carry everywhere. That’s innovation too!
