A strawberry starts as a tiny seed and grows into a juicy red fruit through sunlight, water, and care from the earth.
Imagine you plant a seed in the dirt, like planting a tiny person in a house. That seed is like a sleepy baby who needs to drink water (like milk) and get sun (like playing outside). When it gets enough of both, it wakes up and grows into a green plant, just like a baby growing into a big kid.
How the Strawberry Gets Red
Once the plant has leaves and stems, it makes little berries on its top. These berries are like tiny pockets that collect sweetness from the sun and water, kind of like how your mouth collects juice when you eat candy.
As time goes on, these pockets get more and more full of red color and flavor until they pop out as juicy strawberries, ready to be picked and eaten!
From Farm to Table
Farmers help strawberries grow by giving them the right amount of sunlight and water. When it's time, they pick the ripe berries and bring them to stores so we can enjoy them in our snacks and desserts!
