What Carbon Looks Like
Imagine you have a bunch of tiny balls, these are carbon atoms. Each one can connect to others in different ways, just like how you link hands with friends during games.
If carbon balls hold hands in a straight line, they make something called graphite, which is what pencils are made of. When you write on paper, those tiny lines come from carbon balls moving around!
How Carbon Changes Things
Sometimes, carbon balls get all cozy and huddle together in a tight group, that’s how diamonds are made! Diamonds are super strong because the carbon balls are really close and connected tightly.
Other times, carbon can be part of something soft like ice cream. In ice cream, it helps make things creamy and smooth. So whether you're drawing pictures or eating dessert, carbon is there helping out, just like a friendly helper in your daily life!
