A democratic country is like a group of friends who all get to vote on what they want to do.

Democracy means that people have a say in how their country is run. It’s like when you and your friends decide together where to go for lunch, everyone gets to pick, instead of just one person deciding for the whole group.

In a democratic country, people choose leaders by voting. Imagine you're picking a class president, each student gets to vote for their favorite person. The person with the most votes becomes the leader. That's how countries work too!

Sometimes, not everyone can vote right away, but eventually, almost all people get to take part. It’s like when your family takes turns choosing what movie to watch, each person gets a turn to say what they want.

In a democracy, even if the leaders don’t always do exactly what people want, they still have to listen and try their best. That's why democracies feel fair and fun, everyone has a chance to be heard!
