Lucid Dreaming vs Daydreaming - What's the Difference?

Lucid dreaming is when you're asleep and know you're dreaming, like being inside a dream and realizing it's not real. Daydreaming is when you're awake and your mind goes on a little trip, like being in the middle of math class, but suddenly you’re flying through the sky.

Like Being in a Playground

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, maybe a dinosaur or a robot. If you're daydreaming, it's like you're sitting at the table, but instead of drawing, you're imagining yourself riding that dinosaur around the neighborhood.

But if you’re lucid dreaming, it’s like you’re in your bed, fast asleep, and suddenly you realize you're not just on a playground, you're actually inside your dream world. You might even be able to fly or talk to your dinosaur like it's real!

A Little Bit of Control

In daydreaming, you can imagine things, but you don’t always get to change what happens next. In lucid dreaming, you’re in charge, you can decide if the sky turns purple or if your robot starts dancing.

So, both are fun ways your brain goes on adventures, one while you're awake, and one while you're asleep!
