Yawning might help your brain cool down, just like opening a window on a hot day helps cool down a room.
When you yawn, you take in a big breath and stretch your mouth wide open. This makes your body do something interesting: it sends more blood to the front of your head, right near your eyes and nose, which is where your brain is hiding! At the same time, you exhale slowly through your nose or mouth, letting out warm air.
Like a Fan on Your Brain
Think of your brain like a hot oven. When it's too warm, it can't think as clearly. Yawning is like turning on a fan, it brings in cool air and pushes out the warm stuff. This helps your brain stay at just the right temperature so you can keep thinking, learning, and playing.
Sometimes we yawn when we're tired or bored because our brains are trying to wake up by cooling down. It’s like giving your brain a little refreshing drink, not with juice, but with cool air!
