How Weather Works: Part I?

Weather is what happens in the sky when air moves and changes temperature, just like how you feel warm or cool when you move from a sunny spot to the shade.

Air is all around us, it’s what we breathe, and it's what makes weather happen. Think of air as invisible stuff that can be hot or cold, heavy or light.

When air gets warm, it rises up like a balloon floating in the sky. When it cools down, it sinks, just like when you sit on a chair after standing for a while, your body feels heavier.

This rising and sinking makes wind. Wind is just moving air, like when you blow out birthday candles, the air moves from your mouth to the flames.

Sometimes, air holds tiny drops of water, like how a sponge can hold water. When the air cools down, those drops fall as rain, just like when you squeeze a wet sponge and water comes out.

So weather is all about warm and cool air moving around, sometimes bringing rain, it's like a big, invisible playground in the sky!
