The solar system was born from a big cloud of space stuff that came together over millions of years.
Imagine you're in a kitchen full of flour and sugar, when you mix them up and shake the bowl, everything starts moving around. That's kind of what happened with the solar system. There was a huge cloud made of gas and dust, called a nebula. It started spinning, and as it spun, it got squished in the middle.
The Big Squeeze
In the middle, things got really tight and hot, that's where our Sun was born! Like when you squeeze a balloon to make it pop, the center of the cloud became super bright and hot.
The Leftover Pieces
What wasn’t squeezed into the Sun? It kept spinning around like a big disk. Tiny bits of dust and ice clumped together, just like when you drop a few sprinkles in your milk and they stick together. These clumps grew bigger and bigger, becoming planets, moons, and other space stuff.
So the solar system is like a giant party that started with a cloud, a squeeze, and lots of clumping fun!
Examples
- A giant cloud of gas and dust collapsed to form the Sun and planets.
- Imagine a snowball fight where everything clumps together, that's how planets are born.
- The solar system started as one big cosmic soup.
