How Was Computer Invented?

Computer was invented to help people solve tricky problems faster, like having a super-smart friend who never gets tired.

From Counting on Fingers to Big Machines

Long ago, people counted things using their fingers, or even small stones. But as numbers got bigger and math got harder, they needed better tools. That’s when paper came in handy, like having a big notebook to write down all the steps.

But paper still had limits. So, people started building machines that could do math automatically, just like how a toy car moves on its own without pushing it every time.

The First Computer Was Like a Big Calculator

The first computer was like a giant calculator made of gears and switches. It used switches, like the light switch at home, to turn things on and off. These switches helped it do math by flipping between two states: on or off, just like how you flip your bedroom light.

Over time, people made these computers smaller and faster. Today’s computers are like that first big calculator but super tiny, they fit in your hand and can do millions of calculations every second!
