How to tell the flu from a cold?

The flu and a cold are both sicknesses that make you feel yucky, but they have different superpowers.

The flu is like when your body is attacked by a big, strong monster, it hits fast and feels worse. You might get a fever, which makes you shiver and feel hot all over, just like when you jump into a cold pool. Your head might hurt so much it feels like it’s going to pop! You might also feel really tired, like after running around the playground for hours.

A cold is more like when your body is visited by smaller, slower bugs, they take their time and don’t hit as hard. You might get a runny nose, which feels like having a tiny waterfall inside your head. Your throat might feel scratchy, like it's full of little pebbles.

Sometimes, the flu can make you so sick that you have to stay in bed, while a cold usually lets you keep playing, just not as well.
