A catapult is like a strong arm that helps you throw things far away, just like when you push a toy car really hard and it zooms across the floor.
To make a simple catapult, you’ll need just a few things: a stick, some string, and maybe a small cup or a spoon to hold your projectile (like a tiny ball or a pebble).
How It Works
First, tie one end of the string around the middle of the stick. Then, loop the other end of the string around something sturdy, like a chair or a table leg, this is your launching point.
Now, put your projectile in the cup or spoon and place it on top of the stick. Pull the stick down toward the floor, you’re giving it energy, just like when you stretch a rubber band before letting go.
When you let go, the stick snaps back up, flinging your projectile into the air! The more you pull it down, the farther it goes, just like when you wind up a toy and let it go.
