Why Flat Lighting Is Boring
How to Fix It
You can use more than one light source, like having two lamps or even a window and a lamp. This adds shadows and highlights, making your art look like it has depth, just like how a real banana feels bumpy and shiny in the sunlight.
Or you can imagine that there’s a sun shining on your drawing, casting soft shadows. That makes everything look more interesting, like when you play with blocks and some are in the shade while others catch the light.
Examples
- Using two lights instead of one makes an object look three-dimensional.
