How People Traveled in the Ancient World?

People in the ancient world moved around using walking, riding animals, and big floating things, just like you might ride a bike or take a boat to go somewhere fun.

How They Walked and Rode

Most people walked everywhere, especially if they were going short distances. But when they needed to go farther, they rode horses, donkeys, or even camels! Horses are like really fast bikes, they help you get from one place to another quicker than walking.

How They Floated Across Water

When there was water in the way, people used boats or ships. Boats are like floating cars, you can sit inside and move across lakes or rivers. Ships are bigger boats that can carry lots of people and things across big oceans, just like a bus takes many kids to school.

Sometimes people even walked on roads made from stones or dirt, which were like long paths for feet and wheels (like your toy car’s) to roll on.

So, in the ancient world, traveling was all about using what they had, their feet, animals, and floating things, just like you use your bike, bus, or boat today!
