NASA wants to build the first Moon base, like setting up camp on a super faraway mountain!
Imagine you're going camping, but instead of just bringing your sleeping bag and snacks, you’re bringing everything you need for a whole new house, and it has to work in the middle of nowhere. That’s kind of what NASA is doing on the Moon.
How They’ll Build It
NASA plans to use modules, like big, strong tents or rooms that can be put together, to make the base. These modules will come from Earth, floating up in a spaceship and landing on the Moon.
They’ll also build things out of materials they find right there on the Moon, like lunar soil. It’s like using rocks and sand from your backyard to help build your treehouse, you don’t need to bring everything all the way from home!
Making It Feel Like Home
Once it's built, astronauts will live inside these modules, maybe even grow plants in little gardens, just like how you might have a small garden on your windowsill. They’ll be using robots too, like helpful friends who can do jobs outside while everyone is resting.
NASA is taking small steps now so that one day, living on the Moon feels as normal as going to school or playing with friends! 🌕
