Imagine you and your friends all wear the same color of backpack to school, that’s like being in the same alliance group. Now, how many kids are wearing that same color? That's how we figure out how many countries share the same alliance group.
What Is an Alliance Group?
An alliance group is like a team made up of different countries who work together, maybe to help each other, protect each other, or even play games (like in a big world version of tag).
How Many Countries Are on the Same Team?
Some teams have only a few members. For example, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has 31 countries working together. That’s like having a classroom full of kids who all wear blue backpacks, many people in one group!
Other teams are smaller, like a club with just two or three friends. So depending on which alliance group we look at, the number of countries sharing that group can be small or really big, just like how your backpack color team could have 2 kids or the whole school!
