A government is like a team of friends who help run a big neighborhood together.
Imagine your school has a class president and some helpers who make sure everything runs smoothly, that’s kind of how a government works, but for an entire city or country!
Like a Classroom with More Friends
In a classroom, the president might be chosen by voting. That’s like how people in a country pick their leader, called a president or prime minister.
The helpers, maybe someone who passes out supplies or reminds everyone of rules, are like government workers. They help with things like building roads, making sure schools have books, and keeping the police happy.
Everyone Has a Job
Just like you might have different jobs in your classroom, one person lines up for lunch, another helps clean up, in government, people have special jobs too. There are lawmakers who write rules, judges who help solve problems, and tax collectors who help pay for all the things the government does.
Everyone works together so the neighborhood (or country) can stay happy and organized!
