A thunderstorm is like a giant sky party where clouds fight and lightning dances.
The Cloud Party
Clouds are like big, fluffy pillows in the sky, they’re made of tiny water droplets or ice crystals. When the air is warm near the ground and cold high up, these clouds get all excited and start to swirl around, fighting for space.
The Fight and the Flash
As the clouds fight, they rub against each other, just like when you rub your feet on a carpet and then touch a doorknob. This makes electricity in the sky! When the electricity gets really strong, it jumps from one cloud to another or down to the ground, that’s lightning!
The Sound of Thunder
When lightning flashes, it heats up the air around it really fast. This hot air expands, making a big boom, that’s what we hear as thunder. It sounds like someone dropped a giant drum in the sky!
So, thunderstorms are just clouds having a wild party with electricity and sound, no magic needed!
