How Does This Is Not a Shockwave Work?

This is Not a Shockwave works like a pretend game where you don’t get to play the most exciting part, it’s just like when you’re waiting for your favorite cartoon and it doesn’t come on.

Shockwave is what happens when things move really fast, like a big wave that pushes everything out of the way. But in This Is Not a Shockwave, nothing moves quickly, it’s more like watching a slow-motion video of a calm lake.

Why It's Boring (But Still Fun)

Imagine you’re playing with your toy cars on the floor. A shockwave would be like when you drop a big rock into a puddle, and all the water splashes out fast, that’s exciting!

This Is Not a Shockwave is more like when you gently place a tiny pebble in the same puddle. The water ripples slowly, and it doesn’t feel like much is happening.

Even though it's not as wild, it still feels like playing, just with quieter, slower moves. You can watch it all day and still find joy in how things move (or don’t).
