How does the United Nations work? | RMIT University?

The United Nations is like a big group of friends who help each other solve problems around the world.

Imagine you and your classmates are trying to clean up the playground after recess. You all have different ideas about how to do it, but you agree on one plan together, that's kind of how the United Nations works!

Like a Big Playground Meeting

The United Nations has members, like countries, they're like your friends in class. Each country can speak up and share their idea.

There are also some special people who help make decisions, like the Security Council and the General Assembly. They’re like the leaders of different groups in class, helping everyone agree on what to do next.

Everyone Has a Say

Just like you might vote on which game to play, countries can vote on important things like peace or helping other countries when they're in trouble.

Sometimes, if there's a big problem, like a war, the United Nations helps bring people together to fix it. It’s like when your teacher steps in to help you and your friends work things out after a disagreement.

The United Nations doesn’t have superpowers, just lots of friends working together!
