The scientific method is like a recipe for solving mysteries using clues and tests.
Imagine you're trying to figure out why your favorite cookie didn’t turn out right. You start by noticing something strange, maybe the cookie was too soft or had an odd taste. That's your first clue.
Then, you come up with a guess, or a hypothesis. Maybe you think you used too much sugar. To check that idea, you try making another cookie but use less sugar this time. This is like doing an experiment.
After you make the new cookie, you see if it tastes better, that’s your observation. If it does, maybe your guess was right! But if not, you go back and try a different idea, like using more flour instead.
Sometimes, even after many tests, you might find out that the real reason was something completely different, like your oven wasn’t working properly!
This is how scientists solve problems too: notice, guess, test, and see what happens. It’s just like baking cookies, but with bigger mysteries!
