There’s a special group that keeps all clocks around the world working together, like a team of super-smart timekeepers.
Imagine you have a big clock in your bedroom and another one on your phone. If they don’t agree, it might seem like time is confused! But there’s a secret team, called the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, that makes sure every clock agrees, even ones in different countries.
How They Keep Time Together
This special group uses something called an atomic clock. It works like a super-accurate metronome, it ticks so perfectly, it’s almost like magic (but not really!). These atomic clocks are so precise that they only lose one second every 150 years!
Every year, the team checks all the world's clocks to see if they're still in sync. If some clocks have gotten a little behind or ahead, just like how your toy car might lag behind another when you race them, they make tiny adjustments so everything stays on time.
It’s like having a whole team of clock helpers who make sure every second, minute, and hour happens exactly where it should!
