Blocks That Don't Fit
Some languages have rules that are very clear, like when you’re playing with building blocks. You know which block goes on top of which. But sometimes, a language might say something like “the red block is the blue block,” and that just doesn’t make sense, it's like saying “the apple is the car” in your everyday life.
Rules That Don't Make Sense
In real life, we have rules for how things work. For example, you know that a dog barks, not chirps or sings. But if a language said “the dog sings,” it might be confusing, like if your favorite toy suddenly started talking in a language you don’t understand!
So even though the blocks (or words) exist, they just don’t work together properly, and that’s why some languages can sound fun to imagine, but are tricky to use.
Examples
- A language with only three vowels that must all be pronounced at the same time.
