How does the instant HIV test work?

The instant HIV test is like having a special detective that checks if someone has HIV using just a tiny drop of blood or saliva.

First, you put a little bit of your blood or spit on the test strip, which looks like a small stick with lines on it. This is similar to putting a finger in a puddle, you leave behind something from inside your body.

Then, the test starts working like a puzzle. The special detective (which lives in the test) looks for tiny clues called proteins that are only there if someone has HIV. These proteins are like invisible fingerprints left behind by the virus.

Finally, after a few minutes, you look at the strip and see lines, just like when you draw with markers. If there are two lines, it means the detective found clues and thinks someone might have HIV. If there's only one line, it means the detective didn't find any clues and thinks everything is okay for now.

It’s fast, simple, and gives a quick answer, like getting a sticker after a game!
