How Does The Innovation Cycle Work?

The innovation cycle is like a fun game where people keep making things better and better, just like when you add extra levels to your favorite video game.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks. You start with a simple tower, but then you think, “What if I make it taller?” So you add more blocks. Then someone says, “What if we paint them?” and suddenly the tower isn’t just tall, it’s colorful too! That's innovation, taking something familiar and making it a little better or different.

How It Works

  1. People notice problems or see chances to improve things around them.
  2. They try new ideas, like adding paint or more blocks, this is the invention part.
  3. Others test these ideas and maybe make them even cooler, that's development.
  4. Eventually, lots of people use the improved idea, now it’s innovation in action, just like your tower becoming a whole city!

And then someone says, “What if we put lights on top?”, and the game continues!
