The heart is like a pump that keeps your blood moving all around your body.

Imagine you have a big water bottle, and every time you squeeze it, water squirts out, that’s kind of how the heart works! Inside your chest, there's this strong muscle called the heart, and it beats about 100 times every minute. Each beat pushes blood through special tubes called blood vessels, like a river flowing through pipes.

When the heart beats, it sends blood to all parts of your body, even your toes and fingers! This blood carries oxygen and food, which help your cells grow and work hard. Then the blood goes back to the heart, tired and full of carbon dioxide, like a used-up water bottle that needs to be refilled.

The heart has four special rooms, think of them like rooms in a house. Two rooms send blood out with oxygen, and two bring it back without. They all work together so your body can keep moving and growing, just like how your legs help you run or your brain helps you think!
