Our bodies age because they get tired and slower over time. Like a toy car that runs fast at first but slows down after many uses, our cells work hard every day. Over time, they start to break down and don’t do as well, this is why we feel older and move more slowly.
Examples
- A child can run up a hill easily, but an older person might need to stop and rest halfway.
- Your grandparents may have trouble climbing stairs because their legs feel weaker now than they did when they were younger.
- You used to play soccer every day, but now it takes more time to recover after the game.
