The Great Wall of China and the Berlin Wall are both walls that people built to help control who goes where.
Like a Big Fence Around a Yard
Imagine you have a big yard, and you want to keep your dog inside. You build a fence around it. That’s kind of what the Great Wall of China was like, a long fence made of stone, wood, and bricks that helped protect people from enemies coming in.
Like a Curtain Between Two Rooms
Now imagine two rooms connected by a curtain. If you pull the curtain closed, you can’t see or hear what’s on the other side. The Berlin Wall was like that, it separated two parts of a city, and people couldn't move freely between them. It made it easier for one group to stay apart from another.
Both walls were built by many people working together, just like how you and your friends might build a big sandcastle at the beach!
