Ancient Sparta was like a super strong school where everyone had a job to do, and they all worked together to be the best at fighting.
Sparta wasn’t just about soldiers, it was like a team that trained really hard every day. The Spartan boys started training when they were very young, almost like going to a special camp where they learned how to fight, run, and even sleep in strange places. They didn’t get too many toys or clothes, they had to be tough!
The Spartan men were the main fighters, kind of like the star players on a sports team. Their job was to protect Sparta from enemies.
But who took care of everything else? The helots, who were like workers or helpers in Sparta, did most of the farming and chores so that the soldiers could focus on training and fighting.
It was like having one group of kids playing soccer all day while another group made sure there was food to eat and clothes to wear, everyone had their role, and that’s how Sparta stayed strong!
