How Does the Body Fight a Virus?

Imagine your body is like a castle, and viruses are sneaky little thieves trying to steal the treasure inside. Your immune system has brave knights called white blood cells who come to protect you.

When a virus enters the body, it tries to take over some of the body’s cells. The white blood cells notice this invasion and jump into action. They attack the infected cells and send out messengers to call for more help from other parts of the immune system. Soon, the viruses are defeated, and you start to feel better.

Sometimes, after a fight with a virus, your body remembers it so that next time, it can beat the virus faster, this is how vaccines work too.
