The biggest lie about renewable energy is that it doesn’t work when the sun isn’t shining or the wind isn’t blowing.
Why People Think That
Imagine you have a super cool toy car that only moves when you push it. If you stop pushing, it stops moving. Some people think renewable energy, like solar panels and wind turbines, is just like that toy car. They say, “What if the sun doesn’t shine or the wind doesn’t blow? Then we don’t have power!”
But That’s Not True
In real life, we can store energy like storing sweets in a jar. When the sun shines or the wind blows, we save some of that energy in special batteries, just like you save your favorite sweets for later. Even if it’s cloudy or still, we have our saved sweets to use.
So even though people think renewable energy doesn’t work all the time, it actually does, because we can store the energy when we have it!
