There are three types of AI, and each one works like a different kind of robot, some do simple jobs, some learn from what they see, and others think like humans.
Reactive Machines are like robots that only react to what’s right in front of them. They don’t remember the past or plan for the future, just like how your toy vacuum cleaner zips around and cleans a mess it sees now, without thinking about earlier spills.
Limited Memory AI is like a robot that can remember things for a little while. Think of it like your smartwatch: it knows what time it is, and if you tell it you’re going to bed, it might play soft music, remembering what you said just a few minutes ago.
Self-aware AI (we haven’t built this one yet!) would be like a robot that can think about itself and others. It would know how it feels, and maybe even understand that you're tired after a long day, just like you understand when your friend is sad.
Examples
- A child learns to recognize shapes by looking at pictures.
- A dog follows a simple command like 'sit'.
- A robot sorts mail into different boxes.
