How Does System Purpose, Inputs, and Outputs | Science Lesson Work?

A system is like a special kind of machine that takes things in and gives back something new, just like your favorite toy does when you press a button.

What Is a System's Purpose?

Every system has a purpose, which means it has a job. Think about a toaster: its purpose is to turn bread into toast. If the toaster didn’t do that, it wouldn’t be very useful, just like a dog who doesn't fetch!

Inputs and Outputs

  • Inputs are what go into the system.
  • Outputs are what come out of the system.

Imagine you're making lemonade with a special lemonade machine. You put in lemons, water, and sugar, those are your inputs. The machine works hard and gives you sweet, fizzy lemonade, that’s your output!

So whether it's a toaster, a lemonade machine, or even your brain turning ideas into actions, every system has its own special way of taking things in and giving something back!
